Siham Youmouri's Soaps Meet All FDA Ingredient Requirements:
For true soap in the U.S., labeling requirements under the Fair Packaging and Labeling Act (FPLA) mandate the product's identity ("soap"), net weight, and the manufacturer/distributor's information, but not a full ingredient list, though listing ingredients (in descending order by weight, using INCI names) is strongly recommended for transparency and is required if it's a cosmetic/drug. If you list ingredients, use standard names like "Sodium Olivate," not "saponified olive oil," and list them by predominance, with colorants at the end.
Required Information for All Soaps (FPLA):

  1. Statement of Identity: Clearly label it as "Soap". All of our Siham Youmouri Soaps are listed as "Soap" and make no other claims.
  2. Net Quantity of Contents: The weight or measure of the product (e.g., Net Wt. 4 oz (113g)).
  3. Manufacturer/Distributor Info: Name and Location of Origin of the producer, packer, or distributor.
  4. Recommended for Ingredient Listing (if you choose to)
  5. Order: List ingredients from highest to lowest weight (predominance).
  6. Names: Use the International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI) names (e.g., Sodium Cocoate, Glycerin, Water).
  7. Botanicals: Use common English names (e.g., Lavender Oil), with Latin names optional in parentheses.
  8. Colorants: List approved color additives at the end, in any order.
  9. Avoid: Do not use "saponified oil of..." as a valid ingredient name; list the raw materials or the resulting soap salts.
  10. When FDA Rules Apply (Cosmetic/Drug Claims)
  11. If your soap makes cosmetic or drug claims (e.g., "moisturizing," "acne-fighting") or contains synthetic ingredients, it's regulated as a cosmetic or drug, requiring a full FDA-compliant ingredient declaration with INCI names.
    • Our Product and Ingredient Labels found on all of our soaps meet these requirements.
